Team Rippl named finalists in prestigious technology comp

Congratulations to our Young Enterprise team Rippl who have been named as finalists in Callaghan Innovation’s C-Prize competition, which challenges entrants to create the next generation of wearable technology.

Entrants in this year’s Challenge were invited to create the next generation of wearable technology with a focus on improving human performance and wellbeing.

Team Rippl want to change the way deaf people interact with their environment. They have developed a ‘sleek and stigma-free’ wristband called The Pulse that translates users’ auditory environments into a series of comfortable vibrations, helping deaf people to “feel their space.”

Ripple team members are: Tiffany Chee (CEO), Dylan Surti (Finance), Derek Chow and Leanne Chew (Marketing), Horace Lee (Communications) and Arnav Shetty (Production), all in Year 13.

As a finalist, Rippl receives $10,000 cash and other support services from Callaghan Innovation to develop their technology solutions to a proof of concept.

The grand prize winner will be announced on 1 December and will receive a $100,000 prize package that includes international exposure at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Good luck!
