ACG Parnell provides a high level of learning support for your child, to strengthen their study and ensure they reach their goals. Having the opportunity to participate in all areas of the curriculum will expand your child’s learning journey to discover different strengths and abilities.

Subject teachers regularly arrange extra tutorials, especially in the weeks before examinations. These are scheduled in your child’s break times, by mutual agreement.

Your child can also have one-on-one tutorials, or extra work may be given in order to help overcome any weaknesses in a subject.

Your child will be allocated a tutor at the start of the year. This will usually be one of your child’s teachers, who will mentor and support your child  during their studies.

Achievement conference days are held twice a year, at the beginning of each semester at the start of terms one and three. You and your child are invited to meet with your child’s tutor for a 15 minute appointment, to reflect on progress and set goals for your child’s future study.

The deans support the role of the tutors and provide additional assistance for you and your child. Each dean focuses on a year level, providing support where it is needed.

A special Dean’s Assembly is also held once a term, giving deans an opportunity to speak to each year level, and to recognise students who are working well in class.

The ACG Parnell careers assistant works with the Deputy Principal and deans to provide advice to your child.

A course of study is available if your child has elementary or intermediate skills in English. Classes are taught by specialist English-language teachers and regular assessments are used to track your child’s progress.
