Friends of ACG Parnell College
As a parent or caregiver of a child at ACG Parnell College, you’re automatically a member of the Friends of Parnell College.
Previous successful events include:
- Supper and social networking for parents during middle school socials
- A seminar on ‘Understanding Personality Dynamics for Career Planning’ (Sue Blair – Personality Dynamics)
- A seminar on ‘Understanding Social Media for Parents’ (Parents Inc)
- An introduction to myACG/Blackboard (ACG Education staff)
- Arranging the second-hand uniform sale at the end of each year
- A social evening for parents at Tribeca Restaurant
- End-of-year drinks with teachers and parents
- Monthly coffee group at Foundation Cafe

Establishing connections, building community
The Friends of Parnell College is a group that promotes connections between parents, the school and students. Its role is to provide opportunities for parents to meet other parents, staff and students, and build a supportive school community.

Regular events with Friends
Events include quarterly parents’ meetings with the principal and faculty, regular educational events, social evenings, coffee groups and the end-of-year function with the faculty.

Supporting school initiatives
The Friends of Parnell College supports school initiatives such as the Open Days and the intermissions during school productions. Friends also help co-ordinate private bus transport to help students from all over Auckland get to and from the school.

Strong parental partnership
Supporting our school is a core function of the group. Strong parent involvement, in partnership with a nurturing school environment and a healthy social framework, fully supports our children to be the best they can be.
